Prêt-à-porter Show: Alfred Müller Prêt-à-porterVernissage: Friday, January 12, 2001, 19:00 - 22:00 h Duration: January 13 - March 03 2001 Alfred Müller was born in 60 in Kenzingen/ Emmendingen, Germany. From 1981-86 he studied at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Karlsruhe, Germany, in the classes of Georg Baselitz and Rainer Küchenmeister. 1991 he receives the Kunstfonds grant, Bonn, Germany. Müller participated in various exhibitions in Germany and abroad. He lives and works in Pforzheim and Berlin. Since about 3 years fashion models are the main subject in Müller's
work. Typical for his work is the picturesque representation of the skin,
hair and fabric, which he developed out of watercolor technique. The paintings
are monumental trough format and selected section. At the beginning he started to take photos at the Love-Parade in Berlin, later at fashion shows. In march 2001 designer Hussein Chalayan, who had seen his work before, invited him to his fashion show in London. Through this occassion he also took pictures at the shows of Tristan Webber, Colin Henshaw and from models of Anna Sui in the Victoria & Albert-Museum, London. Apart from this, he also photographed at this years Fashion week in New York and at Gabriele Strehle (Strenesse) in Milano, Italy. |
