Leta Peer is known for her installations of small-foramt paintings in
different locations like a hotel in Bergellen/Switzerland or the New York
Grand Central Station. Painted Installed Photographed (Gemalt Installiert
Fotografiert), in short GIFTS, is the name of this series in
which the artist calls real situations in questsion and creates new meanings
for her images.
Now, Peer has developed this concept further: friends select some works
and are given these works as a loan for some time. Borrowed places
documents how the works are installed by the friends in their private
places - a gallery of discrete portraits, accompanied with short statements
of the friends.
When the book came out there was an article about it in the Swiss newspaper
Basler Allgemeinen Zeitung
Geborgen,
